History

In March 2003 the Basic Pharma Group was established as an independent company, based on an existing production site in Roermond, the Netherlands. In order to be able to expand the activities, the company moved to the Chemelot Research Campus in Geleen in June 2007.

Mile stones

2010:

• Fusidic acid cream dossier finalised and available for licensing
• Pharmacovigilance department employed a Medical Doctor for medical review
• Start qualification of the clean rooms for aseptic filling and processing
• Start of new development projects: 1) hydrogel, 2) nasal spray for systemic action, 3) medicines in prefilled syringes

2009:

• Registration Fluticasone propionate nasal spray
• Registration Xylometazoline nasal spray/drops in 7 EU countries
• Xylometazoline dossier available for licensing

2008:

• Manufacturing licence
• GMP-Certificate for human medicinal products
• GMP-Certificate for human investigational medicinal products
• Laboratory acknowledgement
• Start pharmacovigilance activities

2007:

• Site clearance of the new manufacturing unit in Geleen, for the manufacturing of medicinal products
• Move to the Chemelot Campus in Geleen, The Netherlands

2006:

• Registration Xylometazoline HCl nasal drops and nasal spray
• Registration Triamcinolon acetonide hydrophilic cream on the Netherlands Antilles
• Registration Bromhexine oral solution
• Start Basic Pharma Technologies as Control Research Organisation 
• Start development IMPDs for clinical studies

2005:

• Start patient information leaflet readability tests
• Start clinical studies
• CE certification (for “MediSafe Spoelvloeistof")

2004:

• Merger with Interdos Pharma (founded in 1997)

2003:

• Start R&D activities
• Opening laboratory for quality control
